Made by a farmer, for farmers

From a farm kid who lived it

Nobody builds a packing screen this particular unless they have stood at the table on a Friday night, wondering how to tell somebody their food is not there.

— Gideon Lapp

Who built this?

Gideon Lapp, a farmer. He was milking 31 cows before school at seven, and by seventeen he was running customer service for his family’s 150 orders — which is where he saw exactly what a regular website cannot do for a direct-market farm. U-Neac Farmers is the store he wishes they had had.

How it started

Milking 31 cows before school

I was born and raised on the farm. At age seven I was milking 31 cows before school — more than once I got carried to bed because I fell asleep in the barn.

By seventeen I was handling customer service for our 150 family orders. Being the farmer, the marketer and the driver had me running wild, and all the while customers were calling because their food wasn’t at the pickup spot.

It never felt fair to them, or to us.

The turning point

A dream, a vision, and a plan

I knew I had to do something, and by the grace of God He gave me a dream, a vision and a plan — a picture of what it would look like if the website did the parts that were eating us alive.

The packing. The weights. The charging. The telling people, before they had to ask.

Now I actually look forward to packing days.A sentence I never expected to write

Why it is set up this way

A ministry, not just software

A work of U-Neac Ministry. That is not branding — it changes how the thing is built and how it is paid for.

A real person answers

Not a ticket queue, not a bot that suggests three articles. You write, I read it, I write back — usually the same day.

Built with its farmers

The Wish Board is where farmers ask for what they actually need. A good share of what is on the platform today started as somebody’s wish.

A donation, not a licence

You give monthly, sized to your sales, and every farm gets the whole platform. Nobody is upsold, because there is nothing to upsell.

Where it is now

Real farms, real packing days

There are farms on this today — packing Friday night, charging Saturday morning, and they moved their whole customer list over without losing anybody.

You think it, share the thought, and I will do my best.

A packing day today

Packing day, and nobody is panicking.

About the person behind it

Is Gideon actually the one who answers?

Yes. Write to hi@gideonlapp.com and it comes to me. I read every message and reply personally, usually within a day — and if it takes longer than that, it is because I am packing.

What is U-Neac Ministry?

It is the ministry U-Neac Farmers belongs to. The short version is that this is built as service to farm families rather than as a product to flip, which is why it is a monthly donation, why every plan is the whole platform, and why the roadmap comes from the farmers using it.

Can I talk to a farm that is already using it?

Ask on your call. Farmers are busy people so I will not hand out anybody’s number without asking them first, but there are farms who are glad to tell you what moving over was actually like.

Want the store I wish we had had?

Tell me about your farm and I will tell you honestly whether this fits it.

A real person answers. Every time.
