Questions about charged when packed
Is it safe to store my customers cards?
Your farm never holds the card number. It is kept by the payment processor in the same kind of vault that any online checkout uses, and your store only holds a token that lets it charge that customer for their order. You could not read a card number off your own site if you tried.
What if a card declines at packing?
You see it, and so does the customer - they get an email asking them to update the card, and the order stays open so it can be settled. Nothing disappears quietly.
Can some members pay after pickup?
Yes. You choose which accounts get that. A lot of farms turn it on for long-time members and leave everyone else on pay-at-checkout.
Do I have to sell by weight?
No. Flat-price items charge the flat price and never change. Weight pricing is there for the things that actually vary, like a roast or a half gallon of cream, and you decide item by item.
